“I have worked to promote and defend the human right to housing for more than 20 years because I believe that Los Angeles, and all of the neighborhoods within it, must remain affordable and accessible to everyone. Gentrification and mass displacement, including the criminalization of homeless and other extremely low-income residents, are among the most pressing civil rights violations of our time and we must stand up to address them. As part of Venice Community Housing, we are expanding and preserving affordable housing in our neighborhoods, advancing alternatives to gentrification and criminalization, providing high quality and responsive services, and using our collective voice to promote human rights for all Venice residents and low-income residents across our City and County.” Becky Dennison
