How do you qualify to receive FREE home repairs?

1. Own a home in the West Los Angeles area.

2. Earn a low income - less than $42,450 for a 1 person household or $48,500 for a 2 person household.

3. Be a Senior Citizen 62 years or older or have a disability or be a low income family in need of emergency repairs.

Who makes the repairs?

The repair work is performed by dedicated professionals with years of experience in the field of construction. Youth who are enrolled in VCHC's YouthBuild construction training program also serve as apprentices under the direction of a Construction Supervisor to make some of the home repairs.

How do I apply for the program?

1. Fill out an application. Click here to download an application in pdf format.
2. Include the following documentation with your application:

  • Proof of Age: driver's license, birth certificate, senior citizen ID, passport, etc
  • Proof of Income: One or more of the following must be provided for all adult residents in the home: last years income tax forms, pay stub from employer, Social Security benefits letter, pension statements, or any other proof of income
  • Proof of Home ownership: Most recent property tax bill or copy of the deed
  • Proof of Residency: Utility bills

3. Mail your completed and signed application along with all the required documentation to :
