About Venice Community Housing Corporation (VCHC)

VCHC works to preserve the economic, racial and social diversity of Venice and the surrounding area by maximizing affordable housing and economic development opportunities and providing needed social services to the area’s low-income population.

More than Affordable Housing; Fostering a Diverse and Safe Community
In response to the needs of the low-income families in our community, VCHC offers a variety of programs that work synergistically to foster stable, self-reliant individuals, families and neighborhoods.  These include: 

Affordable Housing and Supportive Services for nearly 500 tenants, including a transitional housing facility for homeless women and their children and housing plus services for individuals with dual disabilities;

Infant Toddler Development Center provides free day care for young children from low-income families;

YouthBuild helps at-risk youth earn a high school degree and connect to gainful employment;

Another Chance provides out of school youth with an education;

Venice High Teen Court provides an alternative to the juvenile system for young people;

HandyWorker provides free minor home repairs for low-income elderly and disabled homeowners;

L.A. Bridges is an after school, gang prevention program at Mark Twain Middle School; and

Westside Repair and Painting Services (WRAPS) provides quality, timely and affordable home repair services to Los Angeles residents and property managers.
